How grandfather clocks got their name

All over hundred years ago there was a hotel called the George Hotel within Piercebridge, County Durham, England, that was managed by 2 brothers known as Jenkins. the hotel got a floor clock that saved period super easily.

One of them brothers died, & a clock began to lose instance. Repair tries were processed, however it entirely failed. Whilst a more brother died at a age of Xc, a clock stopped going altogether, & was never repaired within remembrance of the brothers.

Around 1875, Henry Clay Work, a song writer, was staying at a George Hotel & learned a story of the old floor clock. He decided to write a song just about the clock entitled My Grandfather's Clock.
